This ale is a Fruity Session Ale.

Meaney’s Platinum Blonde

(4.2% ABV)
Brewer:

Our lightest coloured beer made with a single very pale malt. Noticeably citrus/grapefruit hop aroma. Great alternative to Lager. Chills nicely.

Our Platinum Blonde Ale will be about 4.2% a.b.v. noticeably hoppy in aroma. Made with very pale malt so that the malt overtones don’t dominate the more complex citrus/grapefruit aromas from the hops. If you prefer to avoid dark heavy beers this ale may suit you very well. If you’re normally a Lager drinker and want a change this is the baby to go for as it will still be delicious if you choose to serve it as cool as Lager.

Okell's Manx Pale Ale

(3.6% ABV)
Brewer:

We were considering the future of our traditional Mild, with its lower ABV, when Dr Mike came up with this new recipe for Manx Pale Ale. Against the grain of ever-higher ABV ales, our MPA has proven so popular that it is a firm feature in our Permanent listing. Which just goes to show - you can never underestimate the pure appeal of great taste.

A very light Gold Colour. Aromas of tropical fruit, mango, passion fruit and papaya. Initially sweet flavours of passion fruit and peach leading to an intense dry hop finish

Okell's Bitter

(3.7% ABV)
Brewer:

A true original - a session simply isn't a session if it doesn't involve Okell's world famous Bitter. A golden-coloured beer with a full malt and superb hop aroma, with a long lasting dry-ish hoppy complex finish.

Okell's IPA

(4.5% ABV)
Brewer:

Said to be hoppier than a hopping mad hopi, our rather good Doctor Okell's takes the 200 year old tradition of the strong India Pale Ale to its ultimate, thanks to one of Dr Mike's finest brewing moments...
Doctor Okell's is an extremely light coloured beer with a surprising full bodied taste. The sweetness is offset by a very strong hopping rate. That gives the finished beer an over all roundness with very spicy lemony notes and a fine dry finish to counteract the initial sweetness.

Strangely Brown

Penhurst Pale Ale

(4.5% ABV)
Brewer:

An American Pale Ale, Penhurst Pale Ale features Belgian Aromatic Malt providing a solid base to showcase the hops, which will rotate subject to availability. This brew will feature Centennial, Columbus and Topaz.

The hops are also added at several stages of the boil to lend a balanced bitterness together with a liberal dosage at the end to give a big flavour boost. An American ale yeast allows these flavours to shine through.

Starvation Point Porter

(4.5% ABV)
Brewer:

A dark and brooding porter reminiscent of Victorian times when the style was in its heyday and named after Starvation Point outside Whitstable Harbour where workers lined up in hope of work. If you didn’t work, you didn’t eat. Now the style is popular again and we’ve added a small amount of malt smoked over beechwood which is balanced by the gentle fruitiness of Bramling Cross and Boadicea.
